TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - As colleges get ready for the fall semester, more than 10,000 first-generation students at the University of Arizona are preparing to head to campus as their “family’s first” to attend college.

Tori Johnson, is a recent first-generation graduate from the University of Arizona who is preparing to pursue a master’s degree in Marketing at the U of A’s Eller College of Management. The youngest of seven siblings, Johnson said she always had support, but never had a clear example to follow when it came to navigating college.

As a sports enthusiast, Johnson found a sense of belonging in Eller’s sports management program and the McKale Memorial Center became a meaningful part of her journey.
