PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The FBI is warning of a dangerous criminal organization called The Com, which is recruiting kids as young as 11.

“‘The Com’ is short for the community. It’s an international, online criminal network,” said Heith Janke, the FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix office.

The network is dangerous and costly to the community. “We’re talking about crimes that go all the way from swatting and hoax bomb threats to extortion and sextortion of minors to violence as a service and cyber-attacks,” Janke said. “They believe that using juveniles, that they will not be charged. They are not right in that, but that is one of their theories and their business plan is if we can employ juveniles into our schemes that they won’t be charged and they’ll get away with it, which is not
