TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - In an exclusive interview with 13 News, Sun Tran talked about safety following a rash of violent attacks in the last few months.

More than 50,000 riders were expected to ride on a Sun Tran bus on Friday. A large, large majority will arrive at their destinations with no trouble.

But following a string of violent incidents, six in the last six months, the city of Tucson is asking the transit company to come up with a plan to make things safer.

“We hear you, and we’re working very hard to find a solution,” said Sun Tran General Manager Mikel Oglesby.

The problem isn’t new to some of the riders 13 News’ Katherine Patterson talked to on Friday.

“I don’t know if it’s gotten more violent, I know that it’s always been violent,” said Sarah.
