Riding the school bus for the first time can be a bit intimidating, so the Madison Public Library teamed up with local bus driver Marshall Dennert for a special bus tour on Aug. 14.
Dennert, a 24-year veteran driver for the Madison Central School District, walked attending children through functions and features of the school bus before taking them on a ride through town, stopping at both Madison Middle School and Madison Elementary School. Dennert also explained the various emergency exits as well as the distinction between bus number and route number, the latter of which being the one children will need to utilize to locate the proper ride to and from school. ×
