COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A six-year-old child is recovering after being hit by a car Friday morning.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, officers received the call at 8:05 a.m. Police said a group of children were crossing the street in the crosswalk when a vehicle turned into them off of Rockrommon Boulevard onto Redhill Circle.

The vehicle hit one child, who was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. The child’s condition is unknown as of this article’s last update.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene, and the incident is still under investigation.
