MOSELLE, Miss. (WDAM) - A woman is behind bars after allegedly driving impaired in Jones County on Friday morning.
Jones County Sheriff’s Deputy Ethan Williams said that he witnessed a driver cross into oncoming traffic on Highway 11 South near Crump Road in Moselle around 8:17 a.m. Williams said that the driver almost hit other vehicles head-on.
The driver, identified as 65-year-old Virginia Looney of Moselle, was stopped and given a field test through a Preliminary Breath Test.
The test was administered using a portable intoxilyzer, and found that she was double the legal limit to drive, the sheriff’s department said.
Looney was arrested and transported to the Jones County Adult Detention Facility. She is charged with one count of Driving Under the Influence.
