EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Vanderburgh County Health Department officials say mosquitoes in Evansville have tested positive for West Nile Virus.
This news comes after a Vanderburgh County resident tested positive last month.
Officials say these are the first mosquitoes to test positive in the county this year.
So far, they’ve also been found in at least 61 other Indiana counties.
Health Department leaders ask you to take precautions against mosquito bites if you have to be outside.
They say to make sure any bug spray you are using contains Deet as well.
