SALT LAKE CITY — While evacuation orders and warnings constantly change with ongoing fires, officials urge people to be prepared to leave on short notice.

Important documents, chargers and medications. These are just a few items you should be ready to grab if you’re asked to evacuate.

Bryan Stinson with Be Ready Utah showed us his go bag. He says a lot of these items can be collected around the house.

For evacuations, he recommends having 72-hour kits. This should include chargers, water, a light source, nonperishable food and clothes.

He says if an official knocks on your door and says you have to leave immediately, grab that bag, your pets and family members.
