The last weekend before school starts is expected to be a hot and muggy one for the Sioux Empire.
That's according to the National Weather Service office in Sioux Falls, which is predicting heat indices to climb to more than 100 degrees Aug. 15 and Aug. 16.
"The heat may be tempered somewhat by some cloud cover on Friday, so Saturday looks to be the warmer day with the hottest conditions south of I-90," the forecast states. "Take frequent breaks in the A/C, wear light clothing, and remember to never leave kids or pets in vehicles."
