BEDFORD, Ohio — A 22-year-old man from Maple Heights appeared in court on Friday after being indicted on murder charges following a
Darien Hobley was indicted on Aug. 11 by a Cuyahoga County grand jury on the following charges
2 counts of murder
2 counts of felonious assault
1 count of tampering with evidence
According to Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court records, Hobley pleaded not guilty during Friday's arraignment hearing where his $1 million bond was continued.
Hobley is accused of fatally shooting 20-year-old Riley Jones of Shaker Heights.
The incident happened Monday, Aug. 4, outside the AutoZone store on Broadway Avenue.
Bedford Deputy Police Chief Rick Suts said the shooting occurred around 10 a.m. Jones was shot in the chest and transported by Bedford Fire to South Pointe
