The owners of the two dogs that mauled an 8-year-old to death in January in Volusia County are facing felony charges, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators believe the boy, Michael Millett, was riding his bike and stopped to pet one of the dogs when he was attacked, resulting in his death.
The sheriff's office said both owners are facing charges of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
This follows the discovery by investigators that Amanda Franco, one of the owners, had deleted her Facebook account, which included messages exchanged with a neighbor about her dogs' aggressive behavior.
