BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - Four people have been arrested for failing to register as sex offenders following a sting operation in Butler County.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones shared details with the public Friday morning.

Two of the people behind bars were in the U.S. illegally and are registered sex offenders, Sheriff Jones said.

On Thursday morning, law enforcement arrested 43-year-old Ousmane Ly, originally from West Africa.

In 2021, Ly was convicted of sexual battery in Dearborn County, Indiana, and is required to register as a Tier 1 Sex Offender annually for 15 years, Jones explained.

The second person arrested, who is also unlawfully in the U.S., failed to register as a sex offender, however, Jones did not go into detail or release his identity because he committed the
