A Manchester police officer has been found legally justified in his use of deadly force in the shooting and killing of a 35-year-old man who stabbed a police K-9 with a screwdriver last year, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General.

The AG’s Office released its final report on the death of Jake Chiaradonna, 35, Friday morning.

At mid-morning on Jan. 12, 2024, Manchester police responded to the area of Pine and Plummer streets when officers located Chiaradonna, who police were looking for in connection with a burglary and possible stolen car in the area.
