A court has ruled a receiver will be appointed related to the lawsuit involving the owners of Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey and their lender, which claims it is owed more than $100 million related to alleged loan defaults.

Judge Charles Atchley, presiding in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, issued his ruling this week in favor of Farm Credit Mid-America, noting there are multiple reasons a receiver is needed.

Atchley ruled the court will select the receiver, with both the plaintiff and the defendants to submit candidates no later than Aug. 20.
