KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — 6 News anchor Bo Williams is breaking down what drivers need to know before hitting the roads in East Tennessee this weekend.

More work is underway on I-275 in Knoxville, including lane closures on Sunday, August 17, and Monday, August 18. These closures will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night. TDOT said the closures are due to the resurfacing process.

Drivers also should be aware that Newfound Gap Road/US 441 in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is closed between Sugarlands and Newfound Gap following a landslide.

TDOT also released its weekly construction report, which outlines lane closures and road construction activities for 24 East Tennessee counties from August 15 to August 20.
