NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Cynthia Caruthers has been living with a weight on her shoulders ever since her son Marcus was murdered just two weeks shy of his 34th birthday.

“Marcus was a wonderful son, wonderful son,” Caruthers said. “Loved his family, loved his kids, and just loved everyone. I miss him so much, but I just want my son back, and I know that’s not gonna happen.”

On Thursday night, she got a call that lifted that weight off of her shoulders immediately.

“He told me that they had caught him, and I was so relieved,” Caruthers said. “Was able to sleep really well last night, but it’s still not gonna bring my son back, but it was the most wonderful feeling to have put him behind bars.”
