KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Sumner County man pleaded guilty in an East Tennessee federal court for the attempted enticement of a minor, according to the Department of Justice.

Andrew John Paolini, 64, of Gallatin, plead guilty to attempted enticement of a minor to engage in statutory rape.

The DOJ said the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was conducting an undercover investigation in online public chat areas known to be visited by people seeking child sexual abuse material.

While in the chatroom, investigators began communicating with a user, later identified as Paolini. He was trying to entice who he believed was a 13 year old girl for sex, the DOJ said.

Paolini was arrested in November 2024 after he arrived
