BOSTON —
MSPCA-Angell and six other animal welfare organizations across Massachusetts are seeking to rehome dozens of dogs by waiving fees for a week.
The goal follows a huge population spike at MSPCA-Angell shelters, according to Jamie Garabedian, project manager in the MSPCA-Angell’s Animal Protection Division.
"In the last month alone, we’ve brought in more than 1,200 pets through local surrenders, out-of-state transports, and as strays," she said. The adoptathon, called Mutt-chkins, will run Aug. 18 to 24 and waives fees for all dogs aged one and older.
