PERRY, Ohio — Four starters are back on the offensive line.

A big Toledo recruit is back on the defensive line, while another one of Benedictine’s top players back on that side of the ball added at least 15 pounds of muscle in the offseason.

If the Bengals can replicate their 10-win season, perhaps advance further than last year’s run to the OHSAA Division III regional semifinals, it will be from their advantage in the trenches.

“We’ve got a lot of potential,” said senior defensive lineman Sean O’Connell, who used the weight room to bulk up his body, following Benedictine’s scrimmage Thursday at Perry. “We’ve got a lot of young guys, but we’ve got senior leaders in the right places and we could go pretty far if we keep doing the right things.”
