PAINESVILLE, Ohio — An Eastlake man accused of sexually assaulting a girl who was under the age of 13 will serve nine years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony charges.

Christion J. Belnap, 20, was sentenced Aug. 14 in Lake County Common Pleas Court to two years in prison on each of four counts of third-degree felony gross sexual imposition and one year on a fourth-degree felony count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, court officials said. Judge Patrick J. Condon ordered the sentences to be served consecutively.

Belnap was initially indicted on four counts of first-degree felony rape and four counts of gross sexual imposition, court records show. He pleaded guilty July 10 to the reduced charges, and prosecutors dismissed the remaining counts.
