OAKLAND — Two suspects have been charged in a May 11 homicide — one with murder, the other with claiming to have been the victim of an auto theft to cover up the crime, court records show.

Zairy Rubio, 25, was charged Wednesday with murdering 30-year-old Daesjhon Grayson on about 10 minutes before midnight on May 11. The shooting took place on the 600 block of 16th Street in Oakland, near a shelter where Grayson allegedly lived at the time.

A second suspect, Kalif Collins, 24, was charged with accessory. Authorities allege that Collins’ car was used to “transport the shooters” to and from the homicide, and that Collins later filed a fraudulent stolen vehicle report.
