ST. PAUL — The Department of Justice announced Thursday, Aug. 14, it will seek the death penalty for the woman charged with killing a Border Patrol agent from Minnesota.
In a press release, the DOJ announced its pursuit of capital punishment after a federal grand jury returned a four-count indictment charging Teresa Youngblut, 21, of Seattle, with the murder of Border Patrol agent and Minnesota native David Christopher “Chris” Maland , 44.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi officially authorized the pursuit of capital punishment, the DOJ said Thursday, and the acting U.S. attorney in Vermont, Michael P. Drescher, has filed a notice of intent to seek the death penalty against Youngblut.
