MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- As efforts continue to lower crime across the city of Memphis, the Memphis Police Department is looking to get more officers on the streets.
This comes after the department reports that violent crime is down 16% compared to last year.
Lt. Nicholas Dandridge is the unit supervisor and brings 24 years of experience to the team.
"We do have a couple of individuals that we are gone look for and that's what we gone do today," said Lt. Nicholas Dandridge.
"They saw a need for the fugitive unit to grow, to evolve, to go after more violent offenders. They asked me to do it," said Dandridge.
