MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Tallahatchie County man known as the "ghost" for his ability to elude law enforcement has been arrested again.
Ewel "Bubba Scott, 44, has been on the run, wanted for a series of thefts in Tallahatchie and Panola Counties, but was arrested Thursday.
"I didn't want to lose sight of him because we all know once he gets into the woods, he disappears, he's a ghost," said Sheriff Shane Phelps of Panola County.
Scott was in custody Thursday morning, having eluded an intense search effort for weeks.
"He was wore out and tired but I think he I think he'd still have tried to run," said Phelps.
Scott, suspected of a string of thefts, was spotted Thursday morning by the owner of a vacant home on Mudline Road in Enid. • Ewel Bubba Scott Courtesy of Panola County Sheriff's Dep
