SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - More than a decade after retiring from the sport, Hall of Fame jockey, Ramón Domínguez, is making headlines in the world of running. In July, he won the Last Man Standing in Lake Placid.

Domínguez retired from horseracing in 2013. In retirement, running has helped fill a void.

“Running in some ways, sort of substituted or gave me some of the rush of riding a race. The preparation, when I'm in the starting line of any race, my heart is beating like 'okay, I’m ready to come out of the starting gate,'" he said.

In July, Domínguez was one of about 95 runners to compete in the Last Man Standing in Lake Placid. The race challenges runners to run a 4.1-mile loop every hour on the hour, until there's only one runner left.
