John E Seyller announced yesterday that he will formally open a new bowling alley this morning in the basement of the J. N. McCracken store. Mr. Seyller will give Gillette a modern, clean and newly equipped alley, which will be open to ladies and men. It was learned that duck pins will be used in the play.

From the Aug. 10, 1961 News Record:

Donald Rummans, 26, of Gillette, was found guilty of driving slow enough to impede normal and reasonable movement of traffic on U.S. 14-16, it was reported by William Humberson, Wyoming highway patrol. Rummans was fined $10 and $4 court costs. Witnesses for the state were the Rev. and Mrs. Walter E. Motter of Cincinnati, Ohio, whose car and trailer were damaged when they were unable to pass the truck driven by Rum
