A townhouse proposal for Rebstock Road in Fort Erie is moving ahead, but in a smaller form than first pitched.
Council voted this week to approve the development with six units instead of the seven originally planned. The change came after councillors raised concerns about density and how the project would fit into the neighbourhood’s character.
Coun. Tom Lewis put the amendment on the floor, noting the cut in unit count would give staff and the developer room to figure out the best layout.
“The motion to amend is to reduce the number of units from seven to six,” he said, adding the change was made during council’s discussions, rather than sending the whole project back for a full redesign.
