BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - The Beaver dam Farm Sunflower Festival is a fall tradition in Botetourt County, drawing thousands each year to see the fields burst into color.

This year, in honor of the festival’s 10th anniversary, those flowers are making their way from the fields to pint glasses. Seeds harvested from the farm last year were sent to A Few Old Goats Brewing in Buchanan, where brewers crafted a first-of-its-kind sunflower beer.

“Not everybody might feel like coming out and walking through the flowers, but they might enjoy a cold beer at the end of the night,” said festival organizer Candace Monaghan. “So this is perfect to combine the two.”
