ADRIAN, Mich. — Residents in Adrian, Michigan, say a foul odor has returned to their community, and state regulators are now taking escalated enforcement action against the egg facility believed to be responsible.
The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy confirmed it issued a violation notice to Veos, the company operating the facility on East Maumee Street. Officials say the odor violates the state’s nuisance odor rule and other air quality permits.
“A violation notice was issued on July 23, 2025, for odors of sufficient intensity, frequency, and duration,” said Scott Miller, manager of the EGLE Air Quality Division. “We have documented three separate dates of odors in violation of our state nuisance odor rule.”
