( WBRC ) - FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAYS : We have declared First Alert Weather Days for triple-digit feel-like temperatures and the possibility of a strong to severe afternoon storm through Tuesday of next week. We’re back in the classic summer mode. However, we will have some dangerous heat levels returning at times. Stay cool and hydrated and take frequent breaks.

THE NEXT 24 HOURS : We’ve seen a big increase in scattered storms today and the chance for showers and storms will continue through early evening, especially in areas dealing with the hottest temperatures. As we cool off later, storms and showers will dissipate. The heat will build quickly on Saturday and Sunday, with afternoon storm chances remaining isolated.
