The suspect in a fatal shooting Friday afternoon has been located according to Maine State Police, but few other details are known, including whether the suspect is alive.

Police received numerous 911 calls around 1:55 p.m. reporting a shooting at the intersection of Route 302 and Landing Road, a major commercial intersection.

First responders found a man who had been shot. Despite attempts by citizens to take life-saving measures, the man died, Windham Police Chief Kevin Schofield said at a news conference Friday evening.

Police began searching an area that went into several surrounding towns, “specifically Raymond,” Schofield said.

A shelter-in-place order was issued and kept in place until 7 p.m.
