OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Nearly a week later, Blair residents are still working to clean up damage from last weekend’s storms.
Cleanup in the city of Blair has been going strong all week after destructive storms blew through the metro.
Most damage came from downed trees, with limbs left hanging and broken across the city.
Public Safety Coordinator, Jake Dunn, says there wasn’t enough tree trimming or preparation that could have prevented much of the destruction.
“The forces that we saw Saturday, I mean, those were almost like an act of God. With the windspeed, and with the ground speed of 90 miles per hour, elevation of up to 140 miles per hour. I mean you could have the best kept tree and it’ll still suffer in those conditions,” explained Dunn.
