DENVER (KDVR) — On Monday, Denver city and county employees will learn their fate, whether they will stay employed with the city and county or will be impacted due to the sweeping layoffs.

This comes after the mayor's office sent a letter to the city and county employees in July that they would see layoff notifications during the week of Aug. 18.

The city has not revealed its layoff plans for now, but some city workers are coming forward with what they are hearing about how it may happen.

FOX31 interviewed a street maintenance employee with the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure about the layoffs.

"I'm just mainly nervous anxious, just wondering how I am going to provide," said Richard.

He is also a member of Local 17, a union that represents DOTI workers along with Denve
