LEXINGTON, Ky. — As people in Lexington wrap up their summers downtown, the city is beefing up security.
Ruby’s Cafe in Lexington brings bodega-style bites to the bluegrass.
Assistant Manager Ricky Paul said that, besides a long menu of sandwiches, fries, culturally inspired dishes and smoothies, Ruby’s Cafe is also a convenience store on the corner of North Mill Street, which is less than a block from a popular bar and entertainment district.
Paul said it’s a spot that welcomes visitors who often show them love and support in unique ways, such as leaving dollar bills with special signatures and well-wishes on their walls. But as one of the few businesses in the area open until 3 a.m., they’ve experienced serious situations.
