COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Funeral arrangements have been announced for the South Carolina state trooper who was hit by a box truck on Sunday and later passed away.

Trooper Dennis Ricks passed Wednesday after being airlifted to a Charleston hospital to be treated for his substantial injuries.

Visitation for Ricks will be held Aug. 19 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, which is located at 3926 Devine St in Columbia.

Ricks’ funeral will be the following day at Shandon Baptist Church at 5250 Forest Drive in Columbia. The funeral is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

Ricks was honored with a procession stretching from Charleston to Columbia, where several police departments and members of the public lined the route to salute him one final time.
