LAWRENCE COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) -A Florida man is dead after a pedestrian crash in Lawrence County on Friday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on I-44 eastbound, just two miles east of Mount Vernon, at around 5:30 a.m.

Troopers said a 46-year-old man, from Fleming Island, was outside of his SUV from a previous crash when a semi-truck hit the man and the rear of the SUV.

Both vehicles travelled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries, troopers said.

This is Troop D’s 77th fatality for 2025.
