Tristan Rogers, known for his role as Robert Scorpio on the daytime soap, “General Hospital,” has died.
He was 79.
“The entire (General Hospital) family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers’ passing,” Frank Valenti, the executive producer of the show, wrote on Facebook. “Tristan had captivated our fans for more than 50 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio). I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.”
Rogers had been battling lung cancer, according to Parade . The outlet said he announced the diagnosis this past summer. His long-time manager, Meryl Soodak, told Parade that Rogers had never been a smoker.
