STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Earlier this month, the Department of Transportation debuted the new traffic pattern at one of Staten Island’s busiest intersections.
Beginning on Thursday, Aug. 7, a new flow of traffic was implemented at the intersection of Rockland Avenue, Richmond Road and Morley Avenue.
This past week, the Advance/SILive.com was on the scene for the morning rush hour to see how drivers were adjusting to the new pattern.
Traffic enforcement agents were on hand Monday morning to direct vehicles around the new flow of traffic and answer questions from some of the more perplexed drivers.
Do-not-enter signs and traffic cones were also stationed in the road to keep drivers from going down the wrong direction on sections of Richmond Road that were made into one-way streets.
