STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Friday night shooting in Great Kills has left residents of the South Shore town stunned, with many describing the area as one of the quietest on Staten Island.

“This is the probably the most action we’ve ever seen,” said one resident as he walked his dog along William Avenue on Saturday morning. “Sometimes you hear the occasional honking and kickbacks from cars on Hylan (Boulevard), maybe a few accidents, but nothing like this.”
