HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -- The heavy rain that fell Friday, combined with lingering moisture at the surface, has supported the development of dense fog Saturday morning.

With visibility continuing to deteriorate across the Tennessee Valley, the National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory through 9 a.m. Saturday. All of north Alabama, along with Franklin, Lincoln, and Moore counties in Tennessee, are included in the advisory.

The dense fog that has settled across the area this morning will lead to visibility as low as a quarter-mile in some locations. The low visibility could create hazardous driving conditions. Make sure to use your headlights, slow down, and leave plenty of room between you and the other vehicle.
