ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Goodwill Learning Academy celebrated its first graduation yesterday, honoring three adult learners who earned their high school diplomas.
The Goodwill Learning Academy (GLA) aims to empower adults by providing one-on-one learning support to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their educational goals.
"(We) really have someone in your corner who is helping you, really walking side by side, meeting you where you're at," said Jennifer Lake, President and CEO of Goodwill of the Finger Lakes.
Lake explained that the GLA removes barriers for students by covering transportation costs, providing bus passes, and distributing a laptop to each student. This support allows students to continue their education independently after completing a certain number of hours at
