Residents of a tiny city centre street have defended parking fully on the pavements outside their homes.

It comes after criticism was levelled at images showing several cars parked entirely across the pavement on Bailey Street in Liverpool.

Earlier this month, the Liverpool ECHO published photographs of Bailey Street, located on the fringe of Liverpool city centre, near the city's Chinatown.

The pictures showed rows of cars parked completely on the pavement, directly outside the houses on the street.

It appeared that the cars belonged to the residents of the small road.
