CALVIN E. COHICK

Calvin Eugene “Gene” Cohick, 83, of Newport passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025.

He was born in Liverpool to Charles Calvin and Helen Marie (Myers) Cohick.

He attended Greenwood High School. He worked as a mechanic/supervisor for PP&L until his retirement after 23 years of service. After retirement, he worked at Juniata Concrete, Smith’s Tire and Perry County Transportation. He served his community as Newport Borough councilman and as mayor. He was an antique car enthusiast and was a member of the National AACA and Hershey Region AACA. He also was a member of the Newport Fire Company.
