A man was fatally shot in Marrero on Friday night, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to the shooting near a bar at the intersection of Ames Boulevard and Field Street at around 9:15 p.m., Sheriff Joseph Lopinto said in a news release.

They found a man who had been shot multiple times lying on the sidewalk in the 6200 block of Field Street. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
