Maine authorities say a man was shot and killed Friday afternoon on Route 302 in North Windham, and that a suspect was located after a shelter-in-place order had been issued.
Officials would not confirm whether the suspect was alive or dead, and did not share the names of the victim or the suspect.
Windham police Chief Kevin Schofield said at about 1:55 p.m., his department received numerous 911 calls reporting the shooting, which happened at the intersection of Route 302 and Landing Road.
Schofield said bystanders provided aid to the shooting victim, but he did not survive.
