BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
Police released surveillance photos of an attempted murder suspect who opened fire on a teen inside a Birmingham gas station Friday.
Shortly after 12:30 p.m. officers were called to a shooting at the Shell gas station on Oporto-Madrid Boulevard and Fifth Avenue North in the North East Lake neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a juvenile in the store who had been shot.
A WVTM crew saw that the young man was alert and talking when being taken to the hospital by ambulance. He is expected to recover, according to police.
The suspect who was wearing a red T-shirt and green shorts entered the gas station and said something to the victim, according to police.
The suspect left the store, came back inside and fired shots, striking the teen, and then left the area
