Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) are trying to locate a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Greene County, then left the scene.

It happened at 3:45 a.m. Friday on U.S. 11 near the 53-mile marker. That's about four miles north of Union.

Tobias G. Griffin, 39, of Sprott, was walking on the road when he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no description of the vehicle or driver.

ALEA's Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash. Troopers ask anyone who has information concerning the crash to contact them at 205-553-5531.
