ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash between motorcycle and a dirt bike.

Both vehicles were heading west on C.R. 16 around 12:00 a.m., when the motorcycle ran off the northside of the roadway, slid and struck a mailbox.

The driver was thrown into the roadway and struck by the dirt bike, which the motorcyclist was then pronounced dead at the scene.

The dirt bike driver was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for a complaint of overall pain.
