MINIDOKA, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Firefighters rescued a man pinned underneath a derailed train car in Minidoka on Friday evening.
Emergency responders rushed to the railroad tracks along East 940 North around 8 p.m. after a report of a train accident, according to the Minidoka County Fire Protection District .
Crews arrived at the train derailment scene, with one car on its side. The derailed train car pinned a man underneath from his lower extremities, who was found breathing and alert.
Emergency responders freed the man using airbags and heavy equipment to lift the derailed train car. Medical staff stabilized the man and airlifted him to a trauma center.
The Minidoka County Fire Protection District said they do not have any updates on the man’s condition as of Saturday morning.
