ASHLAND, Wis. (Northern News Now) - Early Saturday morning, the Ashland Fire Department responded to El Tarasco due to fire and smoke coming from the restaurant.
Two fire trucks and the Ashland Police Department arrived on the scene and began ventilating the building by opening the doors and breaking the restaurant’s windows.
According to the fire department, the fire started in the kitchen and was put out within five minutes of arriving.
According to AFD, one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion during the course of the fire.
An investigation is ongoing, but as of now, AFD has found no suspicious activity at this time.
Mutual aid from the Washburn Fire Department arrived and helped assist on scene for two hours to completely extinguish the flames.
